The Schedule for the Big Day

The ceremony will be at the Francestown Meeting House at 1 pm. Immediately following will be a cocktail reception at the home or Ms. Claudia Chase and Mr. Richard Welch. It will include a vodka toast (Alex is Ukrainian, you knew this was coming) and a fantastic small meal. There will be wedding shortcake, toasts, first dances and all that jazz. The cocktail reception will end at about 5 pm.

After, those who like to party hard will be invited to the after party at the same location. It will be wayyyy less formal (I will be changing out of my wedding dress...) with slightly louder music. We ask anyone who wants to attend this party to A) let us know and B) [think about] bring[ing] a dish. I'm sure we'll get hungry from all the dancing and lawn games by the end of the night (oh yeah, there will be lawn games... Polish Horseshoes included Phi Kap kids) so we think it would be fun to have some made-by-guests munchies available. Hopefully we'll have some leftover wedding-food, too. Bring your famous 7-layer-bean dip or your favorite lasagna or a fantastic honey-coated goat cheese... or nothing... especially if you've traveled a bazillion miles. But if want, bring a dish and I'm sure everyone will appreciate it and I will look back at my wedding someday and say, "Remember that amazing bread Katie baked?"

An important note... if you're drinking PLEASE have a designated driver or let us hail you a cab. I talked to some super-nice people at Peterborough Taxi (seriously, it exists) and they are willing to send over a big van to drop people off at hotels for less than you'd pay for a cab that brings you 1/4 of a mile in Seattle. If you did drive, leave you car and I will personally see to it that you're reunited with your wheels. I worry so much that someone will drink and drive... so please, for us, don't. Also, crashing on the gazillion comfy surfaces at my 'rents' house is totally cool. I bet Alex's totally-amazing-and-super-mothering mom will be up early making Ukrainian-style pancakes or something. :-)
